Arthur Hughes was elected to replace Olive Anderson, who retired after serving on the Board of Directors for 15 years. Hughes, a retired schoolteacher and coach, expressed excitement and a desire to serve the patrons of Emery Telcom.
“I want to make sure that the people of Green River, and the others that Emery Telcom serves, get the best service and equipment available,” Hughes said. “Also, I want to help move this industry forward into a new age. I am excited to learn about the industry.”
Chief Executive Officer Brock Johansen gave a video presentation that illustrated Emery Telcom’s accomplishments over the past year. The video was produced by Emery Telcom Video as a promotional vehicle for the company’s new local content channel, which currently airs on Emery Telcom’s cable systems.
Among the highlights was the acquisition of the Satview and Precis cable systems in Emery, Carbon, Grand, and San Juan Counties, which helped Emery Telcom add cable television and cable Internet to its service lineup.
