Background
The Emery Telcom College Scholarship program offers $1,000 scholarship awards to high school students from Carbon and Emery Counties. The goal is to provide financial aid to students who have demonstrated strong academics, community involvement and a desire to further his/her education.

Because of limited funds, Emery Telcom will give priority to applicants who have not been awarded other scholarships or educations financial grants.

The scholarship money can only be used for tuition, school fees and books. It will be sent directly to the school in which the student is or will be attending. Money not used by the end of his/her term at the institution will be forfeited and returned to Emery Telcom with no opportunity for reclamation.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a citizen or a legal resident of the United States.
• Any college-bound high school senior residing in Carbon or Emery Counties may apply for the scholarship.
• Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Application Requirements

• Must fully complete the provided application form.
• Must provide two references – one personal and one school. The reference must include name, address and telephone number.
• Must be able to provide acceptance letter, or class schedule from a two or four year post secondary school (college, university, trade or technical school) if selected as one of the winners.

Schedules and Deadlines

• Applications are due by April 2, 2010.
• Committee will review all applications. Decisions will be final. The winners will be notified mid-April.

Winners must submit an acceptance letter or class schedule from a two or four year post secondary school by July 31st, 2010. (Scholarship award will be declared null and void if late)

• Scholarship checks will be mailed to the school within 14 days of receiving the acceptance letter or class schedule.
