Construction Technician - Carbon and Emery Counties

Emery Telecommunications and Video (Emery Telcom) has a full-time position open for a Construction Technician in the Carbon and Emery County areas. The standard hours for this position are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, unless other shifts are designated. Some after-hours and weekend work may be required. This person will help with all underground and areal construction projects that include conduit placement, service drop placement, mainline cable placement, fiber splicing, and other duties as assigned. Familiarity with operating different types of unground equipment is a plus. Some travel may be required, depending on the jobs.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all construction jobs as assigned each day
• Must be able to learn telecommunication technology
• Use appropriate construction equipment for projects
• Place aerial or underground service drops to the customer's premises
• Place conduit and mainline cable for long-haul builds
• Locate underground cables as needed
• Must be able to operate or learn how to operate underground construction equipment, bucket trucks, or other equipment as needed
• Use step ladders and extension ladders to reach heights necessary for installing services. Heights may be upwards of 35 feet.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record. CDL preferred
• Pre-employment drug screen and background checks are required.
