pie crust:
2 c. flour,1 tsp. salt, 2/3 c. shortening, 6-7 Tbsp cold water
filling: 2 pounds of apples peeled and sliced, 1 c. sugar, 2 Tbsp flour, 1/2-1 tsp cinnamon,
1 Tbsp. butter.
To make the crust cut, flour ,salt and shortening to pea size lumps add cold water to bind, mix until blended . Divide and roll out on a floured surface . For filling, slice apples add sugar, cinnamon , dash of nutmeg ,flour, toss to coat the fruit. Fill pastry lined pie plate with mixture. dot with butter .Place top crust flute and seal edge of crust. place a couple of small cuts on top crust to vent while baking ,bake at 375 f for 40 to 45 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Mix some sugar with milk make it fairly thick, to make a coating for the top crust then finish baking until sugar crystallizes
